Spring Break

We went to Vegas for spring break.  We stayed at South Point Time Shares with Nana and Papa.  It was fun, we went to Excalibur and played games.  Papa, Ben, Lizzy, Markie, and I went to the m&m store and coke store.  On the spur of the moment we decided to go to the Stratosphere.  The kids enjoyed it.  We also had a meal at the Steak n Shake which is always a favorite for the kiddos.  The only downside of the trip was the drive home.  We flew in, sending Markie in advance to drive with the Moores.  Coming home, Lizzy and Mark flew home a day early so Lizzy could go to gymnastics practice.  Myself and the rest of the kids drove home with Kim and her kids, Bill had flown home earlier in the week.  It was basically a 7 hour drive.  Kim's van does not go very fast and there were some issues with the brakes that we will not go into detail about.  We also had to make a trip back to the timeshare for Kim's forgotten charger.  Plus an hour long stop at McDonalds.  Needless to say, we were happy to arrive home safely.  It was a fun trip, Vegas with the kids.  Good times.

Lizzy State Meet Xcel

Lizzy had a phenomenal state meet for Xcel Gold on March 31.  She had her highest all around ever with a 37.025.  She is the first alternate for the state team for regionals.  She just missed the state team by a smidgen.  She got her highest bar score ever with a 9.525.  Her floor is what I will remember the most from the meet.  She was the first competitor of the meet and gave an amazing performance.  She nailed every tumbling pass and got lots of cheers from the crowd for her performance.  She was upset to not make the state team, but happy her team won first place.  Lizzy bounced back quickly from not making the state team and had a great first practice back the following week.  She got to uptrain, suks on vault, cast, layout flyaways on bars, front walkovers on beam, and front handspring, round-off, back tuck on floor.  Lizzy has really shone this season and seems to love gymnastics more than ever.

Flag Football!

Markie is playing flag football this spring.  His team is The Saints.  He had a great game last week and got a lot of flags on defense.  We all enjoy watching him play and are glad he is getting to play his favorite sport!
